Browse All TopicsIU have rebuilt a TC4400 tablet PC with XP PRo SP2. I have everything working well with exception to the Audio. I downloaded and tried to install the drivers, but receive an error "The HDA Audio bus driver is required and not found. I go back to the HP website and download the HDA bus driver. I run that install and get yet another error message which says "An error {-5011 : 0x80040707} has occured while running the setup.
If I go to device manager I can see 3 other devices listed with yellow question marks - 1 PCI device and 2 Unknown devices. I tried to update driver automatically on the PCI device, but that too failed. It reported that it could not find a device.
Any ideas how to get my audio back on this machine?

faced same problem time ago but on different laptop number and solved .com/drive r/detail.p hp? driveri d=649829
you must try maybe will work on yours
you mus download and install the following
1- kb888111xpsp2 "get it from microsoft"
2- realtek WDM_R134 from this site http://members.driverguide
3- when finish installing you will find in the device manager an exclamation mark on an pci device in the "system devices" section
so right click on it then update driver then browse to the folder that u extracted driver in step 2
in sub folder wdm
choose somthing like microsoft ubd or something like this but anyway there is only one
then the system will detect many sound devices and it's peripherals
good luck
