T61 Screen Resolution?

Asked by Jeff_McCutchen in Drivers

I have a Lenovo T61 laptop running Windows XP SP2. We currently ghost an image to all T61 laptops our company uses.  The display adapter uses a Nvidia Quadro NVS 140M driver (driver date: 12/10/07: Version: 6.14.11.5685).  The default resolution is 1440x900 pixels.  Here's the issue: whenever the user changes the screen resolution to any thing larger than 1440x900 (i.e. 800x600, 1024x768) the display becomes "fuzzy" for lack of a better word. Only when the screen resolution is 1440x900 is the display crisp, clear as it should be for the other standard settings.  The issue is that the "size" of items on the display is too small for the user, which is why we are wanting to change the screen resolution. Since this is a Lenovo laptop, the driver is system specific and can be downloaded from Lenovo's (not Nvidia) site.  I also attempted to use an Intel display driver also used in T61s but kept receiving an error message each time stating that the driver couldn't be used because the appropriate hardware was not installed.  If anyone can offer some suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated.
