We have had to reload a Panasonic CF-28 laptop that had a corrupt XP install. As it only had a license sticker for Windows 2000 tjis is what we've installed.
We are unable to locate Sound, Modem, VGA and an Unknown Driver for the unit

Select the cf-28
Then look for:
CF-28S
(mk3)
click on the drivers for windows 2000.
Thats it....should show 2 pages of drivers.
How did you load the new OS? If you didn't wipe the drive first, there may still be remnants of XP in the background that may make it problematic for the 2000 drivers to install. Here's how I would recommend you do the downgrade:
Save any important data on the unit to external media such as a USB flash drive, external hard drive, etc.
Download DBAN from:
http://dban.sourceforge.ne
Create the necessary media.
Find and download *all* the most current versions of the necessary system drivers for your OS.
Boot to the media onto which you have burned DBAN. At the prompt, type AUTONUKE. Press Enter. Take a break until you see the black screen that indicates the disk wipe has completed.
Boot to your OS media and install the OS.
Once the OS has been installed, install the drivers. In its Critical Driver Installation Order document, Intel stresses that this sequence be followed:
1 Fresh Operating System Installation
2 Latest Service Pack or Patch
3 Intel® Chipset Software Installation Utility (INF Utility)
4 All other device drivers

Once you have network connectivity, go to
http://update.microsoft.co
Do a Custom install of the necessary OS updates. This will allow you to see what you'll be getting and opt out of any updates you don't want.
At this point, you're ready to start installing your applications.

You might find them here, but you'll need the full product number of the CF-28 to get the right drivers.
Since you don't have that number, you're probably obliged to try all them until you find the right one.
Unfortunately, each one of them has a different configuration.
