Dell Latitude E4300 XP - Base System Device; Broadcom USH drivers
I just bought a Dell Latitude E4300 and have installed Windows XP
Pro and Service Pack 2. I have downloaded the appropriate drivers from
Dell's support site and installed them. However, Device Manager still
shows two big yellow question mark items under Other devices which is
labeled Base System Device & Broadcom USH. What piece of hardware is this and which
drivers do I need to install?
Thanks for any help.

Where did you find the Broadcom USH driver?
Xyden, you can find the driver for the broadcom ush from here
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?os=WW1&osl=EN&catid=-1&impid=-1&servicetag=&SystemID=LAT_E4300&hidos=WLH&hidlang=en&TabIndex=
Expand the applications tree, then download the control point security manager driver, this will take care of the broadcom ush unknown device.

Please share the links for the drivers. I have my new E4300's and I also show a missing driver for the Broadcom USH
Sorry, I missed the link provided..however I have since installed everything under "Applications"..still no luck. I am running Vista Business on a brand new E4300
See the link from Gage06, that's where I found it.
Dell must have either updated or removed the driver from under the applications tree. On my system, there is nothing under the applications tree, and nothing called the ControlPoint Security Manager under any of the other trees either.
Here is the link I'm using...it's the same as Gage06's...

Good luck.
All - Have the same problem on the same model Dell. Installing the ControlPoint software 'found' the driver for the Broadcom unknown device but I still have one unknown device called "Base System Device." I've installed all of the drivers available on Dell's site for this particular unit. What driver needs to be installed yet?
Thanks all...
Thanks all...
I think that's one of the Ricoh drivers under the chipset choices. Install them both. If you're hardware isn't compatible, it won't let you install.
Dell...if you're out there, could you please be more specific with your downloads?!!!

Ricoh driver did the trick... Thx Mtn. Note to anyone else experiencing this issue... Ricoh driver is only found when browsing Vista downloads. I missed it because I'm using Windows 7. Dell either needs to open that particular driver to the Windows 7 group or provide a specific Win7 driver.
For Broadcom USH, just install the drivers, they are in the video driver folder C:\drivers\video\R197163
yes in the video folder.
yes in the video folder.
