What does it boot to? What OS?

by: okdockyPosted on 2009-05-26 at 09:25:24ID: 24474800

Hi TCB1,
It's boot to Windows XP Professional SP3.

You could try this. I'm not sure if it will work. Download the SATA drivers you need, then get the .sys file of the driver and put it in the Windows/System32/Drivers folder, then get the .inf file of the driver and put it in the Windows/inf folder.

You could use drivermax to locate the Sata drivers you need. Also it has an archive function that extracts drivers from systems. www.drivermax.com

You can use nLite to integrate drivers with your Windows XP install.

http://www.nliteos.com/

Create a bootable ISO and then you can mount it with something like VirtualCloneDrive and copy the install over to your flash drive.

If I understand correct, you have bootable usb flash that contains XP with sp3? This should able to boot on other machine if the boot order set boot from usb, regardless sata or ide.

There are instructions for using nLite at the site, and they include pictures. That documentation is available here. All you need to do is select your preferred language.

or

Try Winbuilder or BartPE

I've used Winbuilder to build a custom vistape CD before and BartPE for an XP based CD. Never tried a usb. You can also build a costom XP based Winpe CD from Winbuilder.. There may also be an option to put it on a usb drive.
