There are many risks that you try resize the patition if you dont use professional sofware like partition magic, acronics, etc. I bet there is freeware out there, but how reliable of it, we would not know.

backup your data, then boot up from the XP Cd to perform a reinstall - but choose to delete the partition first, then reparition it to the size you want.
