Norton Ghost 9.0 does not see drive D:. Drive D: is a partition. Other apps see drive D:

Summary:  I have a Seagate 160gb, which I've partitioned into C: and D:.  Norton Ghost doesn't see the D: partition.  I want to image the D: partition, but can not, because Ghost 9.0 doesn't see it.

I have a Seagate 160gb that I partitionerd into C: and D: using Partition Magic.  I admit, I am new to partitioning drives.
Another imaging program, Shadow Desktop, sees both C: and D:.
My Computer -> Manage -> Disk Management sees both C: and D:.
I have not yet tried later versions of Ghost, which I have available.

It seems to me that Ghost 9.0 should see the separate D: partition since the other programs do.

Hi DFlaschen, could try to use a trial version of Drive Backup 9.0 and check if it does see your drives properly: www.drive-backup.com
It is newer than Ghost so works similar way. Possibly it is time to try different software than Ghost.

I've essentaily already done that.
I'm using a copy of StorageCraft's Shadow-Desktop and it behaves correctly.
So, for others looking at this thread in the future, I offer this:
Norton Ghost is weird.  It doesn't see the partitioins although the other programs do.

What OS ?

Is the partition set as Basic or dynamic ?

Are you using GHOST via  DOS boot ?

Windows 2000 Pro
Partition is Basic.
Not DOS boot - just the regular Ghost from inside Windows.

1) COuld be due to an old version, user V12 or newer, or try doig it via the GHOST boot floppy or cD.

Like i said, i think it's a problem with Ghost 9.
So, for others looking at this thread in the future, I offer this:
Norton Ghost is weird.  It doesn't see the partitioins although the other programs do.
