clone a hard drive with restore partion intact

Tags: microsoft, windows xp, home, operating system and restore partition
I am trying to clone a dell hard drive to a new drive.  It has the dell restore partition on it and the restore partition will not work on the new drive although the partition is there.  I went from a 80gb to a 160gb drive.  The option to boot from this partition is still there at startup but it doesn't take when trying to use it.  If I put the old drive back in it works fine.  I am using Norton ghost to clone.  Any ideas on how to clone these drives without losing the ability to use the restore partition in the future?  Thank you
