convert csv to fix lenght format

Zones: System Utilities, Microsoft Access Database, Microsoft Applications

Hi guys,
I'm new to this site. I would like to know is there a software you can recomand that will convert csv to fix file format?
example:
joe,project,clinical,002

output example:
joeprojectclinical002

what i need is a software that i can specified for field one i want X number of charaters for the name and field two X number of characters for project etc...
I search you db but did not find what i needed.

This can be done with Microsoft Access faily easily, Import the CSV to a local Access table then Export it using File, Export, select Text Files and then OK then Advanced Fixed Width

Does this have to be "Dynamic"?

Meaning, will the number of characters in the name always be X?
Or might you want to change this for specific situations?

Also what happens if you specify 6 characters for the name, and the actual name, contains 5 characters? (does it need to be "padded"?)

The following function will just simply strip all commas out of a CSV file.

If you need the data formatted to a certain length, It can be done easily enough without actually importing the data.

And If you are doing a lot of data on a daily basis, I suggest reading and reformatting as opposed to import and dumping. The deletes will cause bloat in the Access DB for no good reason.
