Looking for a software tool to automatically strip all codes from a copy/paste operation

Hello folks,

I am involved in a project where I need to copy text from Word into Notepad and then copy this text from Notepad into the application. The reason I need to do this is to remove all formatting (present in the Word document text) before pasting into the other application.

If I could eliminate the Notepad step, I could save a lot of time. There is no other paste option (e.g. paste special, etc.).

Is there a tool available that will automatically strip all codes in a copy/paste operation?

I found references to a tool called Strip Clip but I cannot find an actual download. Although I am not sure this tool will work because it seems there is still a separate step to remove the codes from the copy buffer.
