I Would like Some Clarification on the Purpose Of and Whether I Need AMD External Events Utility
My PC is an HP e9150t quad core machine using an Intel i7 CPU (920@2.67 GHz). I have 8 GB of RAM and am running Windows Vista Home Premium-64-Bit, Service Pack 2.
I had installed "AnVir Task Manager" a few weeks ago and after experiencing some weird fluctuations in CPU usage, I checked it out. What I found was a file "atiesrxx.exe" called AMD External Events Utility was listed with a 36 % security risk factor.
After reading numerous posts and Google, the general consensus seems to be to disable it, but I wanted to check with the experts here before I did anything. One of the things that I don't understand is the name indicates "AMD" and my processor is Intel. Is there any issue? Thanks for your help.
