Cannot change unknown media changer to a vendor-specific driver

Hello,

I am trying to load a vendor-specific driver for a SpectraLogic T50 library, which is detecting as an Unknown Media Changer. When I try to load SpectraLogic's driver, I see the message on the attached file, and no one else seems to get this (I'm betting because they installed the driver prior to connecting the library, which I did not do.

So then, how would I go about telling Windows to forget about this Unknown Media Changer driver?

That article is more about doing the opposite, but I've tried that method of changing drivers - it doesn't work to remove the Unknown Media Changer driver in my case. Any other thoughts?
look in installed programs; if it shows there - you can probably uninstall it from there

or using the first picture in the link (Device manager) you could disable the driver, or choose to uninstall
Tried that - unfortunately no install exists in Programs and Features, and that is what I am saying, when I disable the driver and/or uninstall, then installing it again just comes back with the message "The best driver software for your device is already installed".

for the following reason:

Because it worked. I can't explain why in this case using the other way to browse for it would make a difference.
