I usually just search the solutions and find what I'm looking for. In this instance I have to finally break down and see if one of the Citrx Gurus can help me troubleshoot this problem. here's the synopsis all help is much appreciated.
Operating System: Citrix Pres Svr 4.0 running on Win2k SP4 NAT'd through Symantec Gateway Firewall (Server was implemented by someone else)
Problem: From a WAN connection I receive the error "The ICA browser failed to return any server names" when trying to connect to the published application set.
Triage already performed.
I've made sure port TCP 1494 and UDP 1604 are already open on Firewall. I can telnet to port 1494 with no problems from a remote connection (Citrix server nats to PAT address of WAN interface of Firewall.)
I am using Citrix Client 7.1 From Program Neghborhood If I create a custom ICA connection to the desktop console of the Citrix Server I can connect from a remote WAn connection no problems. I receive the entire dekstop just like an RDP connection.
If I try to use PN to Find a WAN Application set using this method
Wide Are Network, TCP/IP Protocol WAN IP of Firewall which NAT's to inside address, Select Firewall button and select checkbox Use Alternate Address (ALTADDR is set on server)
I always recieve the error "The ICA Browser Failed to return Any servernames"??? I can't figure out why it won't find the application set when it connects to a custom ICA Desktop on the same server with no problems.
What could be causing this problem???
