Citrix using AD Group Policy for TS roaming profiles saving local profiles to Presentation Server

I am using citrix 4.5 and i have a group policy set to redirect profiles to a file server. after i could see that the GP was working, (logging in created a profile on the fileserver) i went to the presentation servers and deleted the users' local profiles. I've just done some thin client testing, and i'm seeing that all the test users have local profiles again. i could see a cookie for a website i tried to visit from the test account on the profile on the presentation server.

when i applied the group policies, i enabled loopback processing for the computer configuration policy (TS roaming profiles), and then disabled user configuration. then i created a few user configuratrion policies (hide entire network, redirect my documents) and in those i disabled computer configuration. the hide network and redirect documents seem to be working.

How can i tell that my profiles are being accessed from and stored on the file server? is it normal behavior for them to appear on the presentation server after being deleted? and is it incorrect to disable user configuration settings on the TS roaming profiles GP?

any help will be much appreciatedStart Free Trial
