I am experiencing the following problem in our Citrix Server Farm (2 Servers (1 is license server) both are running W2K3 R2 with Citrix PS 4.5 Adv.
The license server became instabil and is shutting down randomly (but that is not the problem I want to address).
While the license server is down, shouldn't the other server still be able to provide user sessions due to the fact that the grace period would become active?
In our case, as soon as the license server goes down, the 2nd server is not able to hand out any Citrix sessions any longer and the users are getting a citrix license error message "Citrix PS license acquisition error (-4): All installed licenses are currently in use".
Why is the grace period not kicking in when the license server is down?
Looking in my lmgrd_debug.log on the license server, I can see lots of this kind of thing:
