The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Slow Accessing Network Drive via Citrix

Zone: Citrix
Tags: Citrix, Presentation Server
Over at the main office there are 5 citrix servers in a farm that outside users can connect to. The main office has a domain and owns the forest.  I am part of the forest but have my own domain. The citrix servers are located in the main office domain. My users connect to the citrix server via website url and log in with their username/password which is on my domain. The TS profile is pointed to the main office domain and it stored on their location in the "terminal serverce user profile path section of the AD user object" \\mainofficeserver\share\username
The termina services home folder is stored on my domain and my servers \\myoffice\share\username and mapped to letter "H"

What has been happening for the last couple of weeks is that when users log into the citrix environment and open a published application "desktop" and then go to their "H" drive (the network drive that points back to my domain and my server) it takes about 30-33 seconds for the folder to open and for the contents to show up. After that if a user opens another folder it takes the same 30-33 seconds for the contents of that folder to show up. Email via Outlook is the same way. Its slow to open and slow to open attachments.

The only change that the main office can remember is that they added a server to the citrix farm. Another thing to note is the fact that only my users are slow navigating the network folders, users at the main office on the main domain are not slow and are fine. So it apears to be a slowness issue somewhere between the main office and my office. Nothing else is slow and the offices are connected via fiber.

Any suggestions are appriciated.
