We are running Citrix Metaframe Presentation Server. Our users log in using the web client. We have roughly 250 users. We have 11 servers in the farm which publishes a desktop in which the users have access to our mission critical application. Intermittently users' printers are not mapped. When this happens i can terminate the spools.exe and restart the print spooler and the users whose printers were successfully mapped when they logged on.....get their printers back. The users who logged on when the print spooler wasn't responding dont' get any printers. I can't find any common denominator as to which print driver is causing the issue. How can I determine which print driver is the cause?
anything that is less than Windows 2000 is a kernel mode driver and needs to be removed any driver that is not supplied by Microsoft directly in the OS should NOT be installed
I would also recommend using the Citrix Universal Print Driver
All drivers are Windows 2000/Windows XP/Windows Server 2003 We've had issues using the Universal Print Driver so that won't be a resolution in our environment.
You don't say what version of PS you are running. Do you have the latest Rollup installed on your Citrix servers? Have you checked for any hotfixes related to your PS version and issue?
