The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

PS4.5: Multiple Sites Problem - DC sends incorrect IP to client

Asked by matthisk in Citrix

Hello,

i have a problem with our PS 4.5 HRP 3 / W2K3 R2 SP2 Environment.

We have two Zones (internal/external) for two Usergroups (internal/external). The external Users have Firewall-permits to the external zone only (Internal users -> internal Zone). Share loadbalancing between Zones is off. There is a Zoneprefence Policy but it is active for PNA & WI only.

Clients are using Citrix Programm Neighborhood and have entries for their Zone-DC (datacollector) only. As long as a user enters correct login-credentials we do not experience any problems. The user gets his appset and can connect correctly.

If a user enters incorrect credentials the connection times out and the user does not get an appset.

What we have discovered so far via. Firewall-Log and Sniffer is:
If a users enters wrong credentials, the Zone-DC which is configured in program neighbh. send an IP to the client for the appset enumeration. Thats' ok, but the IP is an IP of the other (wrong) Zone! And because there are no firewallrights for this client the connection times out.

However, if the credentials are correct, the IP given by the DC is ok and there are no problems.

Any idea why this happens and how to prevent the Zone-DC to give out IP auf another Zone's Server?

Kind Regards,
Matthias
