Upgrading from Citrix 4.5 to 5.0 Enterprise

Hi All

I had a query on Citrix licensing I was hoping someone could help me with.

Currently, we have built a test farm on Citrix 4.5 Enterprise on Windows 2003 and it's running test Apps only.

XenApp 5.0 seems to be the latest version. Can I upgrade to XenApp 5.0 without any additional licensing costs? I understand you pay for the CAL's of the edition of citrix (i.e. Advanced, Enterprise, Platinumum etc) rather than the actual version?

Also - would it be recommended to upgrade to XenApp 5.0 before we install any applications, or can this be done easily after?

Thanks!

Hi.
XenApp 5.0 for 2003 is actualy the same as Presentation Server 4.5 for 2003. In 2008 you will have to think on new TS cals.

You don't need to upgrade because you already have the newest version for 2003. But install Rollu Packs. Those will add new features. To oppgrade to Rollup Pack 4 you also have to upgrade your licens server to 11.6.1

Ah ok, thanks.

Since we are testing, we haven't installed any Rollup Packs yet...so, Rollup Pack 4 is the latest we should install?

I notice that Feature Pack for XenApp 5 came out recently...am I entitled to this? Is it worth anything?

Thanks again
