Depending on the # of servers this could be a problem with one of the servers and uses get directed to it at random. Check the auto-creation process on all servers.

Browse All TopicsWe are running Citrix Presentation Server 4.5 and have a number of Citrix Policies that are applied at logon to map printers within the users session. Within the last few weeks a number of users have been complaining that when they have logged-in they can't see any printers within their Citrix session. This problem appears to be very random as some days there are no problems with some users and at other times the problem re-appears. The printers within the policy are applied based on Group Membership and there are definately no problems with users not being in the correct group. The problem also seems to resolve itself if the user logs-out and back in again. Of course there is the ususal gritting of teeth when you ask them to do this every time the phone with the problem.

There are two servers in the farm. The strange thing about this is that up until now we have never had this problem. As far as I can see it has only appeared within the last few weeks.
The problem is affecting both client-mapped printers and printers that are assigned to the users through a citrix policy.

I have worked with a lot of Citrix servers and the biggest pain is printer mapping. I found this two years ago and set it on every server and the printing issues disappear:
