Download JRE 1.6 Update 10?

Hi

Am trying to install the latest Citrix hotfix pack and it says I need JRE 1.6 Update 10.

I've been on the Java site and cannot seem to find this! I see Jave SE etc, update 16 and so on...

Can anyone point me to a link?

Urgent so max point!

The Citrix article says I need Update 10, so I guess that's the one I need?

Typically, the latter version is prefered, when it is the same primary release (1.6). 1.6.11, for example, would be more stable and include bugfixes, but no compatibility changes. I agree with Charles, install the latest 1.6 JRE, this is what we all do.

This virtually _always_ means "you need at _least_ 1.6 Update 10", meaning Update 10 and higher, not that you need "only 1.6 Update 10".

I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be installed 1.6, it is called JRE 6 update 16?

Yes, in your question you said the Citrix doc indicated:

>>JRE 1.6 Update 10.


So JRE 1.6 is Java 6.

That may be just because that happened to be the latest at the time it was written

If it says update 10 it is because either that version is specifically required or that is the version that has been tested and proved to work correctly. Either way it would be advisable to use that version until such time as later versions are tested as compatible.
