Seems like there might be something else trying to take up port 27000 which is what the lic server requires. I would upgrade to the newest license server and redownload your license from Citrix.
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsRecently when logging onto the presentation server or opening a citrix aplication you get the error message 'Citrix presentation server cannot contact the license server'
the presentation and license servers are differnt servers.
on the license server, 2 of 3 citrix services are running.
citrix License Management console is started
Citrix Licensing WMI is started
Attempting to start CitrixLicensing results in this message - the citrixlicesnsing service started then stopped, some services do this because they have no work to do.
cannot telnet to port 27000 on the license server which I belive is the port citrix uses for its licenses.
Below is the debug log from the license server.
Any help greatly appreciated.

this citrix article is spot on about my problem - http://support.citrix.com/
But can find no program that is using up the 27000 port, and downloaded my licese of mycitrix again but its identical to the one im currently running.
citrix_startup.lic also has correct port allocation of 27000 and points to the correct directory.
We got this working ourselves but the cause might not be the same for you.
Looks like an update of java on our citrix presentation server caused it,so we changed some keys to fool it into thinking its 1.5 instead of 1.6.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWAR
"JavaHome"="M:\Program Files\Java\jre6"
"RuntimeLib"="M:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\client
"MicroVersion"="0"
Then a repair on the license server and a restart seemed to do the trick.

Hrm. Never seen that before. Have you modified your license files at all? Have you tried just downloading them again from MyCitrix.com?
