Citrix Server Setup for iPhone Receiver

I've recently discovered the Citrix Receiver App for the iPhone and have been struggling to get it working from the get-go.

I've managed to connect to our server and authenticate and I get a list of applications (Desktop, Outlook 2007, Word 2007 etc etc) but when trying to open one, I get a black screen with "Please wait" which will stay there for a minute or so before going back to the application list.

I figure there must be a configuration issue on the Citrix server somewhere?

The address I entered was our https://presentationserver.com address and it works fine from the web (providing the web plugin is installed.

I wanted to provide you with versions etc of our server but I cannot for the life of me find out where theyre hidden - wasnt here for the setup of the server and I am only just getting into it :)

This is interesting...

XenApp connects perfectly, rolling out shortcuts to my desktop and allowing access to the Citrix Desktop etc over the LAN and will also work remotely via Checkpoint VPN.

Testing loically using the server's local name - http://citrix-server - I cannot login because:

"The supplied credentials could not be validated. Either they are incorrect, or there is a problem with the authentication system. Try again, or contact your help desk or system administrator for help."

Logging into the https://citrix.company.com address from the web works fine as well, launching programs perfectly - I am using the Citrix XenApp Plugin for Hosted Apps.

1494 was already open in the firewall, and I have just added 2598 for good measure - are there any other ports I should be checking out other than 8001?
If 8001 is your XML port then no, you should have them all.  Once you get this working you really should consider putting CSG into place though.  When you get that error specified, do you see any errors in the event viewer?  So, your testing should all really be done using the FQDN, inside and out just to minimize variables...just make sure the FQDN resolves the LAN IP internally (from the server itself even) and the Internet IP from outside of your network; make a host record on the server or host you are testing if you need to.  Now at this point the issue is probably with your DMZ settings, what options do you have selected in Secure Client Access in the AMC?  The simplest way to configure this is:
LAN Subnet              Direct
Default                     Alternate
Then set an alternate address in command prompt (altaddr /set Internet IP) which will give users on the outside the external IP when they request a connection.  This is yet another reason to use CSG, with Secure Gateway (you can even run it on the same box!) your DMZ Settings change to:
Default                     Gateway Direct
