Help designing a new network print server environment

Asked by drhixson in Windows 2003 Server, Citrix, Network Management

Hey all, I currently have the following environment:

approx 1500 users, 1/2 on desktop\laptops and 1/2 on citrix thin clients
2 windows server 2003 servers with all the network printers shared. 2 servers are running Microsoft Network Load Balancing. The NLB fails sometimes, and users are not able to choose printers, etc. its a mess and rather than another bandaide I would rather redesign it from the ground up.

I want to create a better print server environment, with complete redundancy. I would like to get away from NLB and maybe go with virtual servers and a clustered environment. Do you have any suggestions?Start Free Trial
