PCAnywhere V11: Unable to attach to specified device

I checked some of the articles and solutions at this forum but none of them are helpful.
I was tryingt connect remotely with PCAnywhere v11 to a static ip address but failed.  I disabled all of firewalls on the host and checked the setting on PCAnywhere on the host and the remote but still communication error: pcanywhere unable to attach to specified device.  What else should I do?

Is the computer located within your local network?  Do you have to get past a router to get to it?

If you have to go past a router, you need to forward the pcAnywhere port (5631/tcp for connections is mandatory, 5632/udp for browsing optional) to the "server" machine.
