Setting up a VPN etc

Zones: Virtual Private Networking (VPN), Miscellaneous Networking, PC Anywhere Remote Access Software

We are thinking about setting up one of the following:

A VPN
Using Remote Access instead of a VPN
Using an online service for VPN such as GoToMyPc.com

Any suggestions as to which would be best?

Also, on the Remote Access and GoToMyPc, is it possible to download a file from the remote computer to the user's machine?
