OK, Main PC is connected to my Wireless Netgear router (which is connected to my network card on PC and Internet modem), my laptops use that router for an Internet connection (no encryption, but secured cos it only allows my laptops' mac addresses). All using Windows XP.
I just want to be able to send any message, to tell whoever is on that computer to do something (i.e. download something or bring a cd from there). I will try that app soon, I need to install it to both computers right? Because it recognises my PC as "Homepc", but it didn't send the message I think because it isn't installed on that PC.

Can you tell me a little bit more about your setup?
ternet/Pho ne_Chat_an d_IRC/ Revi ew_04575_i ndex.html
What are the two computers and what operating systems are they running?
What type of wireless router are you using, and how is it connected to the PC and the laptops for internet connection?
What type of messages are you wanting to send?
I'm just not getting a clear picture of what you have there I guess. If your machines connect to the internet through this router, then you do have them connected over a network and you can use a program like LAN Chat that doesn't require an internet connection for the two machines to communicate. You can download it free here:

If that's not the case, please answer the questions for me, and I'll do my best to help you out.
