The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. connecting new clients to terminal server 2003

Hi

I am installing three new XP computers to a network and using 'remote desktop connection' to connect to a terminal server. There are three computers already connected to the server and working okay.

I have added the three new users to the SBS 2003 server and then into the terminal server "remote desktop users" local group and they can log on to the existing computers but not the new ones.

The new computers (and others that i've tried at different sites) constantly give the error that the "user needs to be added to the remote desktop user group" but they are added and these users can log on to the existing computers fine! Even the existing usernames cannot log on to the new computers!

It appears that the computers don't have the right but i have searched everywhere and can't find the answer within the settings. Am i doing something wrong when setting the Remote Desktops up? Do i need to add the computers to a security group?

There are only 5 user licenses on the system and probably all used but according to the server it is in 'User' mode and should allow unlimited devices! Even if the server was out of licenses it should still issue a temp one shouldn't it?

This is driving me nuts!!
