Not sure where to put this. We currently use UltraVNC to remote to clients machines which works fine on those we can VPN into but sometimes we get ad-hoc users who don't have this installed and instead go to a website and run a remote version of VNC but this does'nt work well with Vista and if we log off or lose connection we cannot re-establish it from our end and have to keep ringing the end user up numerous times where work involves restarts and network changes etc. We have tried log me in and teamviewer and although they are fine the are very expensive and wondered if anyone knows of a free alternative (like UltraVNC) that would work with Vista, through Firewalls and we could re-connect from our side should the connection drop.
