The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

Hi,

There are 2 offices, i want to install 2 linksys BEFVP41 VPN Routers in each office in order to make a VPN. Office A LAN with ip : 192.168.1.* and the other Office B LAN with ip 192.168.2.* .
Office A with fixed IP (for example: www.abc.com) while Office B with dynamic IP.
Office B has a CCTV with internal IP 192.168.2.101. the port for CCTV is 80.

There are 2 possible solutions for watching the CCTV.

one is to setup DDNS in the office B. user can access the CCTV using : http://xxxxx.ddns.org/

Q1)Do BEFVP41 support built-in DDNS ?

the other solution is to watch CCTV through : http://www.abc.com:1234/ ( If i want to do this , I have to use port forwarding from the 192.168.1.100 ( router ip) port 1234 to 192.168.2.101 ( CCTV)

Q2)Would you tell me if i can forward 192.168.1.100 ( office A router ip) port 89 to 192.168.2.101 (CCTV) port 80 using BEFVP41 ?

Q3) For Office B, If I set DMZ to 192.168.2.102 ( which is a Vo-IP phone) ,Can I still use port forwarding and forward 192.168.2.100 ( office B VPN Router) port 80 to 192.168.2.101 (CCTV) port 80 ?

4) What's the transfer rate of each tunnel of the BEFVP41 ?

5) Would you also please tell me what's the advantage and disadvantage of using these 2 solutions ?

I look forward to your reply, thanks.Start Free Trial
