The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

router/firewall recommendation for remote "hands off" install

I'm fluent in Sonicwall Enhanced OS on the many TZ-170's I manage, so i began to look at the sonicwall SSL-VPN series, don't know if the 200 will do what i want, so i looked at the 2000 - but I'm near $2k so i need to step back...

this is to protect, at an off-site datacenter, a pair servers that will be peer-site-domain controller, with terminal services, and a type of DFS or file copying up to it from our main campus.  the idea is that if our LAN/site/network go offline for a significant amount of time, our users could be directed to it to connect to their data from their homes (ie: pandemic flu contingency plans).

so the SSL-vpn isn't huge, in that my users would be terminal services direct, for their ease of use. and between our main site and the remote datacenter i'd do a appliance to appliance vpn.

what i want is:  4 port switch on lan side, one to one nat, granular ACLs, https management, and most importantly- why my TZ-170 is not an option: rock solid and 1U rack mountable.

the cisco pix 501/506 are too fat for a 1U space.  the 515 is getting way to expensive for this project.  not sure if the sonicwall ssl-vpn200 will do all of the networking we want - waiting to hear back from them.

can you recommend something?   normal SPI and stuff.  don't need packet shaping, or IDS, or Content filtering.

thanks,
