remote login help

my office has nt4 domain server, we have suddenlink cable broadband and a dlink broadband router,5 workstations and three of us use laptops to work from home. i want to be able to login to the server and/or remote desktop to the workstations. we have a static ip from suddenlink and the router is set as dhcp server. all of the workstatons and laptops have xp pro. the router has vpn passthru and virtual server capabilities, but i'm not sure how to set it up. the router help is'nt clear to me. whitch ip do i use? do i log in to cable modem ip? or am i supposed to create an ip? i'm new to IT and am on the learn as you go plan. can you guys help me out?Start Free Trial
