The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. Outgoing VPN Connection Issue

Hi Experts,

We are having a problem establishing an outgoing VPN connection ever since we got a T1 line installed.  Prior to the T1 line, we had a DSL line and were always able to connect to a remote server.  The CSU/DSU for the T1 is remotely managed and the service provider swears there is no problem on the network.

Now, we cannot establish any connection to the remote server.  Our IP address did change with the upgrade, but the admin running the remote server swears that he is not filtering by IP address, so the obvious troubleshooting avenue is closed.  This is borne out because we can take a laptop off our network and connect via a local coffee house wireless connection and hit the VPN just fine.

So the network guy blames the service provider but the service provider is blaming the network guy.  My question is:  has anyone else ever had this problem with VPN and how/who should I be leaning on to get this resolved.
