my remote computers are are on differnt network, example verizon wireles .

when i connect from my remote computer to the sbs server, i cannot get online on my remote computer. i stay connected to the sbs server but cannot get on to the internet.

Is there a way to configure my sbs server vpn connection to where i can stay connected to the sbs server and also get nto the internet at the same time?

PS.
In option 1 Your remote computer will access the internet using the SBS server as a gateway.(Slower) depending on your bandwidth

In option 2 Your remote computer will use the local gateway (Faster)

Great guys. i choose option 2 and it worked like a charm.

thanks a lot.

side note do you know if the NETGEAR WNR834M can handle multiple VPN connections.
This Router is not a VPN router it's a wireless router.
If you mean VPN passthrough yes it should be able to handle it.
Cheers!

thanks for correction me. But i can only have one vpn passthrough. if i try
tcp port reported error 736. the remote computer terminated the control protocol.
This only happens when i try to connec two connectios to the sbs server. is it in the router or the sbs server that is causing this issue?

Thanks
I do not believe that is coming from the router.
The error 736 indicate that the VPN server is out of available ports or IP addresses

source remote acces

in the event log is says user\doamin\name connected to port vpnc has been disconnected because no network protocols were successfully negotiated.

thanks
Make sure You have enough IP Addresses on your IP Scheme,
And go to "Routing and Remote Access/Ports" from Administrative tools and configure the amount of ports you need.

I have 5 ports (pptp)(vpn3-0)
dhcp on my router is 10.168.1.2 to 254.

seems i have the to criteria.

any other soulution?
IP is given from SBS when you connect via RAS
So you are showing the wrong range of IP.
I believe anyway that it as nothing to do with IP. Therefore, go back to "Routing and Remote Access/Ports" from Administrative tools
Add a few more ports under Configure.
See if that changes the status.

reply add any more ports. i oanly have ..refresh,properties and help drop down list to work from.

it may be that the sbs server may be issuing ip addresses. how do i check if it is and configure it to issure enough?

thanks

Click on Properties
then highlight WAN Miniport (PPTP)
then  Click on Configure Button and the amount of port desired
