I was trying to set up a VPN for a client (call this location site B) and am afraid I'm in over my head. I set up port forwarding and had one of my partners connect to the VPN server from our office. However, the client who needs to connect from (location site A) is having problems connecting. It will not connect from any workstation but from their Domain Server (Server 2003), it will connect. I was told in a previous line of questioning that the server might have two network cards and be filtering all traffic through it. Also, was told that the subnet for the VPN server and client sites should be different, but they are both 192.168.1.x. Still not sure why this would keep the workstations from connecting and allow the domain server to connect. I am wondering if I might not be better off just using a VNC client. . . I am somewhat familiar with TightVNC but others recommended UltraVNC. Logmein seems to be an option but looks like it is only free for a 30 day trial and that will not work. Does anyone have any ideas why the VPN won't connect from the workstations and/or if it is just better to use one of the VNC clients. As I listened to my client yesterday, it became more and more apparent that remote controlling the other computer might be better. If I use Tight or Ultra VNC, what ports do I have to forward?
