VPN or Terminal Server?

We have 6 remote users and our trying to set up a basic network for the group.  Our IT consultant has suggested a VPN or Terminal Server based solution.  Why would a small work group like ours choose one over the other?  Is one easier to transfer files from a remote users laptop to the server than the other? Is one faster for the remote user to use?  Any suggestions would be helpful, Thanks-Start Free Trial
