  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. VPN and Mapped drives

Hello All,
I'm trying to figure out the last details of my VPN connection. I have setup RRAS on Windows Server, configured the VPN Client connection and can connect to the server using this connection.

The reason for this VPN is to enable employees to receive and send data to a shared folder on the server using their application. I have the shared folder mapped on the laptops but the application can't find the mapped drive unless I go to "My Computer" and open and close the mapped drive. Once this is done the application will work until I log off or disconnect the VPN connection. Is this standard procedure or am I missing something?
