How do i route traffic from the IP of the remote-access client to the network behind the VPN appliance?

Ok guys, I can do this with OpenVPN, but this IPSec VPN is giving me a headache - i have a VPN client installed on my laptop, a public addressable IP of a.a.a.a, and i am connecting to a Cisco ASA 5505 with a public addressable IP of a.a.a.b - both of these devices plug into a 4 port business cable modem (which means the 4 ports are bridged to the cable interface, anything plugged into it is publicly addressable), i have a static range of a.a.a.a through a.a.a.f to use on this cable modem. With the given configs, i am able to access stuff on the internal network on the ASA... but as soon as i move the ASA to the T1, NAT-T breaks down?
I can still connect to the ASA 5505 and login, but i can't pass traffic - i can still ping the internal ip of the device 10.0.0.1, but the ping reply comes back as a.a.a.a ? please help, i know this question isn't as direct as possible, but i need to "route" using the ASA to pass traffic between the internal network and any firewalled Remote-access VPN client.
