PPTP VPN doesnt pass on proper permissions?

Hello experts,

I am baffled with some VPN problems. The permissions set on the office LAN are not used when I connect over a PPTP VPN(this is a workgroup setup).

This is a client to site configuration. Connecting from home to the office (XP  to Server2003)

Any ideas why the permissions arent passed? (its almost like the VPN permissions are tied directly in with a group called SUsers that the admin created), but on the LAN in the office everything works fine.

Would restarting the server help?
Uninstall and reinstall RAS?
Stop and restart the service?

Appreciate any advice.
