We have our main office on the east coast and a satellite office on the west coast. The people on the west coast connect to our Exchange sever through Sonicwall netextender. After signing in the west coast users have the option of either using a web based Outlook client or creating a VPN to the east coast site and using the Outlook on their computers. The web based solution always works without error.
The VPN solution is only working for the west coast when the east coast is out of the office. So after 5pm est. and on the weekend the west coast office can use their own Outlook. Sonicwall is reporting a successful connection during business hours on the east coast, but Outlook is giving an error message on startup reporting that it can not connect. If I try to run a "outlook /rpcdiag", on a west coast computer connected through the VPN, nothing manages to get past the connecting stage.
Any thoughts on what could cause this intermittent behavior?
