Hello Murahu,

You're not giving us much to work with...
What setup are you using and how are you trying to connect?
Can you give a little more explanation on how you've configured the router and how you're planning on connecting to it using which protocol? And even more important maybe, what are you trying to archieve in the end?

Best regards,

LucF

hi LucF,

scenario describes as such :
LAN ---- VPN Router ------- ADSL Router (bridge mode) ------ Internet --------

basic requirement are :
remote client from outside world can able to connect to the local lan through VPN for accessing servers

Setup details :
we have subscribed for DDNS service through dyndns.org with hostname "somcvpn.getmyip.com" since ADSL router ip address is dynamic
at present we have configured client - to - gateway VPN settings on the VPN router, when we try to connect from outside world using thrid party "TheGreenBow IPSec VPN Client" VPN tunnels are not created on the router and hence we are not able connect to the network
We have also upgraded to latest firmware of VPN Router

I hope you have better knowledge of the scenario and the requirement

Thanks and regards,

Murahu

Hi Murahu,

I had almost forgotten about your issue, it has been more than two weeks.

So if I'm correct in reading your comments, the public IP address is directly published on the WAN interface of the RV042.
What setup are you using on the RV042 and the greenbow VPN client to get the connection up-and-running and do you have any logfiles which might explain what the issue is?
Are you running a client-to-gateway or gateway-to-gateway configurationon the RV042 with the Greenbow client?

To give some examples...
Are the local IP ranges different on both ends of the VPN connection?
Are other client connections like PPTP or the Linksys QuickVPN utility succesful in getting a connection to the RV042?
Did you make sure that also the modem (in your case the WAG200G) is running the latest firmware version (in your case, at least version 1.01.06 as all below had some VPN passthrough issues)

In my previous comment I might have explained myself in the wrong way, but is it possible to explain the full network layout including IP-ranges used on the different locations and were NATting is performed and where it isn't?

Best regards,

LucF

Hi LucF,

Yes, public ip is directly published on WAN interface of VPN Router (RV042)

We want to acheive client-to-gateway VPN, so that remote clients can login into corporate network to access their servers.

At the initial setup we were able to connect thru quick vpn client, but IPSec tunnel was not established, so we upgraded RV042 firmware to 1.3.9-q50, after this upgrade now we even cannot connect thru quick vpn client

Local IP ranges are different at both ends

We have now upgraded firmware of ADSL router WAG200G to 1.01.06

Now we would like to configure from the scratch as new config, i think all the vpn config is messed up, if u can guide we will configure from the start.

Thanx

Murahu

Hi Murahu,

Ok, if you can, indeed starting from scratch is the best way to go to rule out any mistakes made.
Reset the router, reconfigure the Internet settings and change the local IP address to another range (as-in, don't use the 192.168.1.x range on the RV042)

Now start setting up one single tunnel on both the RV042 and the Greenbow client and let me know where it goes wrong and what you see in the logfile of the RV042 and Greenbow client.

Please follow the instructions you can find at http://www.thegreenbow.com/doc/tgbvpn_cg_LinksysRV082_en.pdf for setting up this tunnel.

Regards,

LucF

Qlemo,

Thanks for cleaning up old questions, however I think my last comment should have helped him to step-by-step setup the connection.
