The Solution Rating System
|
|
| With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating. - The Grade of the Solution
- The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
- The Number of Author and Expert Comments
- The Number of Experts Contributing
- The Feedback of the Community
Your Input Matters Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site. If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support. Thank you! |

Asked by nipntuck in Virtual Private Networking (VPN), SBS Small Business Server, Watchguard Firewall
I currently run SBS 2003 sp2 with two NIC. One NIC is private while the other is directly connected to a new Motorola Netopia 3347-02 router. The router is connected to the internet via an adsl connection through Qwest. I have setup the router to open ports 443 and 1723. I have disabled RRAS,ran CEICW on the sbs and ran the RRAS wizard. I can connect to email with my iPhone 3G v2.0 while on the 3G network. I can also create a vpn connection to sbs server and logon to remote desktop through Safari using the private IP address with the iPhone. The vpn connection is through a static public IP address on public interface of the router. Private network scope: 192.168.0.64/255.255.255.1
92. Internet server NIC IP 192.168.0 2. Netopia router NIC to sbs server 192.168.0.1.
I am unable to create a vpn connection with my laptop running Win XP sp3 from my home wireless connection. I am able to connect with the iPhone on the home network. I receive error 800 on my laptop.
When I connect to the router directly with the iPhone or the PC via wireless, neither is able to create the vpn connection. I am unable to ping the internet server address (192.168.0.2) but I am able to ping the internal address of the router (192.168.0.1) from the PC. The PC is running Zone Alarm internet suite.
Am I correct in assuming that if the iPhone is able to create a vpn connection, the router and sbs server are configured correctly?
