This may be really easy but I am new to Firewalls and VPN. This is the intent I just need to know if it can be done and if so HOW?!?!
We have a sonicwall 2040 we want to allow VPN access to our users to thier PC's at work.
i.e. I'm at home I open the VPN client I am directed to a RDP session so I can log into my PC at work. Once logged into my PC it should be like I'm in the office I want to see my folders on my PC at work I want to see my apps and run them as if at work. If there is an easier way of doing this then better.
REASON: We have software installed on the PC's at work that prevents Copy/downloads of files. We want the users to have access to everything from anywhere but limit themto the rules set on thier desktop......HELPPPPPPP!

ittogo, thanks but the intent is to send them DIRECTLY to an RDP connection no other access to the network except from their own desktop at work....
What Iread from your post is that the user would connect to the network then start an RDp session,I want the RDP session to be automatic. I want to prevent the user from accessing the network EXCEPT from the PC at work.
Not sure if you could do it, but if you could define a static IP address for each of the clients (I haven't got a client installed here, and haven't looked at it in a while), you could define rules in the firewall for each of those external client ip's to go to only a single IP on the internal network, they would only have access to their own machine.
Finally got with Sonicwall support, seems that with a few rules and so me NATing on the 2040, if I give everyone a static IP I can have them RDP directly from home into their PC in the office using the VPN tunnel without the need for a VPN client!!!! If anybody has done this on the 2040 it would be nice to get some input.
