Is Cisco VPN Client Version 5.0.00.0340

Hi All,

In our compnay we have windows XP installed on every employee's laptop. We use "Cisco VPN Client Version 5.0.00.0340" to connect to all of our company server and also to some of our client's server; and once VPN is connected we use "Remote Desktop Connection" to get on to the servers.

My question is that is our "Cisco VPN Client Version 5.0.00.0340"  is a  "Cisco's IPSEC client software". My clients want to know that but I dont know the answer.

Yes, that is Cisco's IPSEC client.

Are you sure? Can you provide me a legitimate resource (website) that can confirm this.

This what have been asked:
One of our client's Manager recently asked us following;
"our network security team asked me to let you know that  our VPN standard is Cisco's IPSEC client software. They need to know if in your company that software already installed. Typically, it runs on a Windows XP machine."

What should be my answer?

Yes, I am 100% sure.  The Anyconnect client is Cisco's SSL VPN client.  The version you have is the Cisco IPSEC VPN client.

This is the data sheet for the VPN client.  Look at the "Tunneling Protocols" under the product specifications section.

JFrederick29 is right. The software is the Cisco IPSEC client. It is actually a slightly older version as the most recent is 5.0.05.0290. The anyconnect is the only other current client for VPN and it is at version 2.3.0254. The release notes for your client can be found at http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/vpn/client/5_0/50client.htm though you may need a valid CCO login to get it.
