The Solution Rating System
|
|
| With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating. - The Grade of the Solution
- The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
- The Number of Author and Expert Comments
- The Number of Experts Contributing
- The Feedback of the Community
Your Input Matters Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site. If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support. Thank you! |

Asked by mikeabc27 in Virtual Private Networking (VPN), Network Routers, Wireless Local Area Network
I have a customer who's office lease is expiring in a couple of weeks time and they want to set up office in a converted outbuilding on their farm to save lots of commuting time.
They only have three Vista Business PCs that currenty work on a peer-to-peer network. Two of the PCs will be at the farm and the other will be at a location 70 miles away. BT broadband with public IPs is now set up at both locations and they have new 2wire 2700 modem routers.
My object is to allow access by myself and the staff to the three PCs using RDP rather than something like GoToAssist or similar - it's free, fast and easy to use. Also two PCs have a Sage licence, so I need to establish a VPN to allow the accounts data folder to be shared remotely unless there is a better way than a VPN.
I normally use a Netgear firewall router with the 2wire router for better security and because the 2wire doesn't support port redirection, but as we are only talking about 3 PCs I wonder if there is a way of bypassing the Netgear and using the 2wire on it's own?
Thanks for any ideas.
