What, if any, Do I need to run a cat5 drop to 1000ft

I would like to run a cat5 drop a distance of 1000ft. What busters/amplifiers do I need and where to find them. Purchasing switches and placing them at 300ft interval is my last option as I will need to provide power to these unis which is non-existent at present.

If you dont want to run switches etc you may want to think about getting two fibre transcievers. This way you can place your two transcievers at each and of your connection and run a 1000 ft fiber cable between the two.

Thanks alot However I was steering away from Fibre. I did some searching and found  something simular to what you are talking about but for cat5. Have you or anyone used .the item below?

PS: My workplace have cat5 cabling running over .75 of a mile but for transmitting video (DVR).
