Browse All TopicsHave user at a hotel. His VPN times out before making the connection. I suggested he contact the hotel tech support since they were probably blocking that port. Tech support claims all ports are open. I verified that I can make a VPN connection from a different network. The VPN is Microsoft-based using PPTP. Any suggestions.

In my experience, this is not uncommon for hotels. Their basic configuration often do not pass VPN packets. I have been caught in this myself. In some cases there is nothing you can do about it. In some cases, you can pay an additional fee at the hotel for business access. .. Thinkpads_User
