I have a ISA 2006 server to accept PPTP VPN connections in which works very well.
Having trouble with work PC's that are a part of our domain connecting to via the VPN when out of the office.
It seems if the pc/laptop has been joined to our domain at any point, when it is taken out of the office the user will not be able to connect to the VPN. It will fail on authenticating user.
This is really frustrating for us you know. Please make a small effort to explain your question with some decent background detail.
Version of OS? Serrvice Pack? Error messages seen? What do you see in the ISA log? Is the VPN created on ISA or seperate RRAS box? What rules have you p[ut in? Are you running the ISA firewall client?
etc etc etc - you help us with a full set of circumstances and we can try and help you in Exchange - we are allegedly very good at what we do butr we are not mind readers. Also, it is not much fun having to ask you 20 questions just to get the full picture.
Running on Win2k3 SP2 VPN created on ISA server itself Standard generated rules when going through ISA VPN wizard.
Client machines are reaching through to the ISA server fine as I have ran an Wireshark packet capture.
Note: this only affects remote machines that have previously joined our internal domain and the VPN connection process will fail on authentication the user (fails on registering computer on network)
Note 2: If I enter the internal address of the ISA server and try to VPN to it from an internal domain connected PC this works fine.
Might be irelevant information but thought I might include it.
