MS VPN connects OK for only 20 seconds, then can not ping anything on the hosted VPN network

Asked by ebcs in Windows 2003 Server, Virtual Private Networking (VPN)

MS VPN worked fine until about a week ago.  Using RRAS on Windows Server 2003 as the server and MS VPN network connections on XP and Server2003 as clients. This worked fine. All share on the server were available and we could ping any device on the remote network.
Now, after connecting,  it is fine for about 20 seconds then we loose the ability ping or see shares. The VPN connection remains connected.  Subsequent VPN connection never get ping responses until I restart the RRAS service on the host server.   Any help on this would be appreciated.  Start Free Trial
