No X-windows when start VMPlayer

I am using Fedora O/S, and using VMPlayer to run 3-4 VMWare images...

For security, I should logoff X-Windows, but all VMWare images must be stopped when logoff. So it is possible to run VMPlayer without X-Windows startup (also starting the VMWare images together)?

e.g. scripting

Why VMWare server and how to do ???

Sorry ! just forget to talk more about our VMWare, which is VMWare workstation image. One more... VMWare server is one of expensvie product for enterprise.

VMware server is free.
VMware ESX is expensive.

VMware server is like workstation, but it runs as a service (no need to be logged in)
Other differences too, but try it. It is free.

But I have one more question..
- If it runs as a service, so that it will also run the images together by self, rite ?
- Able to startup 3-4 images as the same time in one machine ?

you can configure, if guests should start after boot or not.
but if started, they run independently.
you can run more then 4 at the same time. this depends on you host hardware.

Hi WeHe,

Just installed and tested the VMware server, it's good as my expected.

On the other hand, I have 3 VMware on server. Unforunately,  one of VMWare server could not be auto started.

I have already selected  "Power on virtual machine" in Startup / Shtudown options). And also checked the winNetWindows.vmx file, the status is (autostart = "poweron")

Any idea please ?
